The termination of the Soviet Union recomposed the world power and deconstructed the old bi-polar international system. Confronted with the new challenges and changes after the Cold War, countries all around the world actively adjust their foreign policies to win a comparatively prevailing position in the emerging international framework to maximize their national interests.China, the United States and Russia are three countries with particularly great international influence, endowed with a peculiar role in international affairs. The analysis of trend presented by the adjustment of the trilateral relationship could be rather meaningful both academically and practically. As one of the biggest international organizations, UN plays an important part in protecting and maintaining the world peace and order, especially after the Cold War. China, the United States and Russia are the permanent members of the UN Security Council. The UN framework gives them an efficient platform to collectively deal with various international affairs in different areas, such as sovereignty and territory integrality, zone security, sustainable development and military security. An empirical analysis under UN could present clearly the development and trend of Sino-American-Russian trilateral relationship. This Master thesis starts with a discourse on comparing between triangle relationship and trilateral relationship. The study of Sino-American-Russian trilateral relationship is guided with theory of national interests, proved with an empirical analysis under UN, in the methodology of trilateral relationship, summarizing the characteristics of Sino-American-Russian trilateral relationship after the Cold War.
