The International Public Opinion Environment Of Our Nation: Situation, Reason And Countermeasure

Along with the end of the cold war and economic globalization's unceasing development, the competition between nations also become more and more intense,besides traditional Political struggle and military power's contest,"soft power" also obtained more and more values.But the promotion of "soft power" can not become true merely through a country's own endeavor,but also depends on international society's appraisal,namely international public opinion.Therefore,how to make our country's international public opinion become well has become an important topic in our country.At the tenth diplomatic agent conference stationed abroad in August,2004,President Hu Jintao said,"to strive for objective and friendly environment for public opinions is one basic task and elementary object of our country's diplomatic work at present and in the future,as well as to strive for the good international environment,the peripheral environment and the cooperation environment".Based on such situation,this paper selected our country's international public opinion environment as the study.The first part analysis international public opinion connotation,the relations among international public opinion,world opinion and public opinion,as well as the current international public opinion characteristic.Then,the second part analyses our nation's international public opinion of the present situation and its reason.Last part proposed five suggestions on how to improve our country's international public opinion environment.
