Since the innovated and open policy has been carried out in 1978, the degree of population mobility is increasing in China. As a result,a great number of young people swarm into the cities to look for jobs, and most of the elderly live alone in the country.Nowadays the whole country should pay more attention to the social problems during we are building the new socialist countryside, such as whether there is a difference between the living conditions of the remained elderly and the rural non-stay elderly',and what the social sustain is for it.This paper makes the remained elderly and the rural non-stay elderly in Dongkou county,Hunan Province as the study objects, and uses the questionnaires and interviews to obtain information on cases.I surveyed 189 rural remained elders and 96 rural non-stay elders, then dealed with the datas by SPSS11.5.I.Besides I interviewed 12 rural elders individually.I analyzed and compared the substance conditions, life attendances and the spirit of consolation separately between the remained elderly and the rural non-stay elderly. The survey results show that there is a more obvious difference between the elderly on the aspects of the substance conditions, the life attendances and the spirit of consolation because of the lack of social support and children out of long-term.For the analysis of the conclusions,I suggested that we should build social support system, such as We should develop diversified financing channels to give the elderly substance support,we should carry out multi-channel support to give the elderly life care, and we should pay attention to the diversity of emotional support to give the elderly the spirit of consolation.
