The Research On Harbin Engineering University Teachers Structure

With the coming of information revolution and the economic globalization, human has entered the era of knowledge economy and technological innovation. To construct a powerful country with higher education has become a necessary measure of carrying out the talent strategy and technology and education strategy in China. Among the implementations, the most important one is sustainable creativity, i.e. continuously educating and emerging talents, which is also the strength of research universities, i.e. well-structured teacher-team skilled in teaching and research. Harbin Engineering University is a research university under construction in China. The rational allocation of teacher-team structure is one of her core competitiveness. Therefore, during the process forward to research university, Harbin Engineering University must fully understand the importance of the teachers structure, further optimize and perfect the structure, speed up the building of teachers team, accelerate the progress to be a research university and provide long-lasting power to realize the great aim of being a powerful country with higher education.Based on the above understanding, this paper analyzed the meaning of four main aspects of the teacher structure in research universities, such as, age structure, education structure, job structure and academic affiliation structure; compared the teacher structure of well-known research universities inside and outside our country; specifically studied the teacher structure of research universities under construction in our country by the example of Harbin Engineering University; further researched the existing problems of the teacher structure in Harbin Engineering University and gave some suggestions on optimizing the teacher structure of Harbin Engineering University.
