Problems And Strategies On Internationalization Of Higher Education In Anhui Province

With the economic globalization, internationalizing is becoming a top concern and new trend in the course of reforming and developing of universities and colleges and, at one time, the inevitable demand for the development of politics, economy, culture and technology. Being in an exploring time, favorable opportunities and tricky problems are coexisting for Anhui Province. Based on the strategic background and aim, the problems and strategies on internationalization of higher education in Anhui province are studied from the perspective of theory and practice both.The thesis falls into five parts. Part I is the foreword in which the research background and significance are described and the major research methods and min findings are introduced. Part II is the literature review, which, based upon comprehensive study of theories concerning internationalization of higher education, defines its concept from aspects of definition, content and significance, analyses the status quo and the trend of development of the internationalization of higher education, and finally summarize the attempts and experiences of nationwide universities in the field. Part III is the analytical study of the status quo, which first describes its development and the characteristics, and then points out the problems ,opportunities and challenges, and finally proposes an over-all train of thought for further development. The measures on promoting the internationalization of high education in Anhui province are studied in Part IV. The study is conducted from the aspects of the role of government, strategies of universities and colleges, investment of social capital, selection of overseas partners and so on. Part V is the conclusion, which summarizes the present research, points out its limitations and areas for further research.
