An Research On Profession Standard Of The University Counselor

The conception of the university counselor is always mistaken by people as a job that everyone can take it easily, the reason lies in that the professional function of university counselor involves a wide range and there is no rules in many tasks which result in the lack of an uniform profession standard and the phenomenon of busy work without high efficiency. This study attempts to research the profession standard of university counselor and make it clear that the responsibility university counselor should take.It aims to improve the work efficiency of counselor team.On the basis of analyzing the original and the development system of the university counselor, through interviewing the relevant principals of university and students, finding out the actual working condition and qualities of the university counselor, this study will research the profession standard of the university counselor according to the direction by shanghai bureau of labour through the basic principal and main steps of a new profession. The standard consists of professional function, working content, relevant skills and knowledge requirements. In addition, it is classified in three categories through the difference, grade 5, grade 4 and grade 3, difficulty level from low to high. Finally, we research the principal qualities, which the university counselor should have, building the model of evaluation by AHP.This investigate is to make the job of the university counselor definite, offer a new perspective, in the same time, it also provides the objective reference data for the selecting, training, evaluation and checking for the university counselor. But due to the limited time and vigor in this study, the teacher and student are investigated from the same high school.
