This study had two main purposes:First, investigating the current situation of social workers'job burnout in Pudong New District; Second, exploring some risk and protective factors which effcting social workers'job burnout. The author conducted a questionnaire survey of 400 social workers who came from organizations of Pudong Social Workers'Association.The author applied Maslach Burnout Inventory,PSSS and self-designed dimension in questionnaire survey. By the statistic analysis of survey date with using SPSS 15.0 and the interview results of 20 social workers, This paper concluded the following conclusions:(1) the condition of social workers'job burnout whom drawn from Pudong New District is relatively serious;(2) there were some risk factors which inducing and aggravating social workers'job burnout came from social work values, social workers'political, economic and social status and systematism;(3)social support and supervision are the protective factors which preventing and mitigating social workers'job burnout. At last, the paper also put forward some relevant trategy from the macro, meso and micro levels.
