Volleyball has a glorious history in China and plays an irreplaceable part in motivating the Chinese. Up to now, volleyball in Henan already has a history of nearly one hundred years. In theory, athletics volleyball in Henan should have been better developed. However, in reality its development situation is unpromising. Coming along the way, athletics volleyball in Henan has its ups and downs and a host of problems. This project through deep analysis of development process of athletics volleyball in Henan, explains history of athletics volleyball in Henan and looks for experiences and lessons from it. The experience gained: coaches cherish posts and devote wholeheartedly to work, athletes are hardworking; perfect volleyball traditional project school law, construction of institution and a large number of sport schools; learn experience, widen eyes, go abroad, and communicate externally; implementation of four-level training web and a connected sequence of training system; constantly carry out coaches cultivation and improve coaches'academic level.3. At present weakness of athletics volleyball in Henan: all levels of leadership have not given full value and support; athletics volleyball's reserve force is weak and talent succession resource is not enough; capital investment is not enough; volleyball socialization and professionalization level is not high; coaches'overall competence needs further improvement; competition system needs further perfection; management system of athletics volleyball in Henan needs improvement and organizational unit has a confused mandate.
