ObjectiveThe paper focuses on the main elements and the status of the level of laboratory animal management of provincial medical universities.The study helpes to establish the systematic, scientific and reasonable evaluation index system, on the basis of which data validate research are carried out in order to provide the reference and countermeasures for the standard and scientific laboratory animal management of provincial medical universities.Objects of StudyTake the laboratory animal centers in 15 provincial medical universities in China as the appraisal objects; Take the laboratory animal centers in 9 provincial medical universities as the sample objects.Sources of Information1. The original data are collected and synthesized by the Laboratory Animal Center of provincial medical universities.2. Related websites of provincial medical universities.3. The data through the investigation.Methods1. Literature search method and experts interviews are used to get the theoretical basis and principles for the index system of the level of laboratory animal management of provincial medical universities, study relating theory and draft evaluation system.2. Delphi method is used to construct evaluation index system through investing authorized experts.3. Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is adopted to construct the weights the importance of the evaluation index system.4. Factor analyze is used to test and analyze the reliability and feasibility of the index system5. Synthetical scored method is used to carry out validate research. Results1. Establishment the evaluation index system for the laboratory animal management of provincial medical universities.Evaluation index system was selected and determined with Delphi method. According to the results of expert consult, and with mean number≥3.50, full score ratio≥0.10, variation coefficient≤0.25 for standard, the items in the first survey which were not consistent with the standard were deleted. Combined with the expert's opinions and suggestions, the evaluation index was revised. The second survey was carried on. After two rounds of experts consultation method, each item's mean and variation coefficient are consistent with the standard. The index system is constructed. It consists of 6 first-level indicators, 15 second- level indicators and 38 third- level indicators.2. Determination the weights of the evaluation index system.The weights of all the index have been ascertained by the means of Analytical Hierarchy Process(AHP).The weights of the first-level index are: 0.241,0.371,0.092,0.170,0.073,0.053, then the combination weights are worked out by the principle of probability multiplication.3. Assessment and application of evaluation index system of the level of laboratory animal management of provincial medical universities.By analysis of reliability and validity, the evaluation index system proves to be good in reliability and validity. Nine provincial medical universities were evaluated by using the evaluation index system. Overall evaluation ordering result is university A,university F,university I,university B,university C,university D,university E,university G,university H.The result displays that there are gaps among nine universities in laboratory animal management.Conclusion1. The article has established the evaluation index system of the level of laboratory animal management of provincial medical universities. The assessing system covers a wide range of content and it is scientific and efficient.2. The results of assessment of index system are true and reliable.New points of view in this study1. It is the first time to establish the basic information database of the laboratory animal centers in provincial medical universities in China. 2. The evaluation index system of the level of laboratory animal management is set up for the first time, which promotes the level of laboratory animal management of provincial medical universities.Ideas of further study1. Further improve the evaluation indicator system;2. Search for more related data from other universities to make more effective study.
