Teacher-student relationship is one of the most basic and key relationships in school education. Its quality has a direct impact on the smooth completion of educational activities as well as the level of educational quality. what's more, it has much to do with the development of students'comprehensive quality. Thus, to improve students'comprehensive qualities and develop students'all-round ability as well as their personal characteristics has been a very important part in the education reform and development in china.This study analyzes the concept and connotation of teacher-student relationship and students'comprehensive qualities at first. There are two types of teacher-student relationship in campus, i.e. interpersonal relationship and teaching vs. studying relationship. Then the author focuses on the effects different relationships between teachers and students have on students'comprehensive qualities, followed by the research of essential factors of teacher-student relationship. At last, the conclusion of the findings is drawn and can be used as a reference for the education authority as well as teachers and educators in schools.Interpersonal relationship between teachers and students is classified into three types based on its management model:authoritarian type, laissez-faire type and democratic type. The research shows that in authoritarian teacher-student relationship, students are always intense and nervous both psychologically and emotionally, for fear of severe punishment. As a result, they study passively and suffer a lot physically and mentally. But in the laissez-faire type of teacher-student relationship, students are too relaxed and free to have explicit learning aims. Their learning behavior is often dominated by their interests and hobbies and they are likely to develop slack learing habits. Fortunately, democratic relationship provides a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere for students to study actively and their learning enthusiasm and motivation are significantly improved as a result of the communicative and harmonious relationship between teachers and students.According to the center principle, the teaching vs. studying type of relationship is defined as teacher-centered, student-centered, leading factor- oriented and interaction type. It has been shown through investigation that in teacher-centered classes, students are regarded as containers to receive knowledge and they just listen passively, let alone participate initiatively; In student-centered class, teachers pay much attention to the characteristics of students'physical and mental development, show full respect for their personality, and liberate their subjectivity and creativity, however, this teaching mode easily falls to giving in to students and there is not distinct progress in students' performance. Teachers play a guiding role in leading factor- oriented classes, meanwhile, they attach much importance to students'learning subjectivity, which is more consistent with the rules of teaching and students benefit a lot both physically and mentally. Lastly, in interaction relationship, two-way communication or multi-directional interactions between teacher and students or students and students are more frequent, encouraging students to develop actively and healthily.
