Objective:To identify the existing problems of Tangshan city junior long jump training situation, promote the level of scientific training.Methods:38 junior long jump athletes and 19 coaches were investigated and interviewed through the "athlete questionnaire" and "Coaches Questionnaire". The data form the competition and training of junior long jumpers'was analysis.Results:Survey results showed that 15.8% of the long jump coach selected athlete is based on player results; 63.2% of the coaches selected player according to their own experience combined with player results; 21.1% of coaches are combined according to the test results. The average age of Tangshan City Junior Long Jump athletes start special training, was 12.91 years (male) and 12.38 years (female). Tangshan City Junior Long Jump training 8-11 times per week, and the number of annual training times is 288~495 sessions. Long Jumpers participate the national or municipal track and field competitions are concentrated in 2 to 3 times each year. Almost all of the long jump coaches think strength is the most important quality for the long jump athletes. The coaches thought the absolute speed very seriously, and technical training on the approach paid insufficient attention to the combination of the approach training and take off training enough.Conclusion:The selection methods of long jump coaches of Tangshan city are begin to use of scientific methods and means, but experience is still in the majority. The training load volume, most coaches used, is still at large amount of training on the old concept. In physical training, more emphasis on strength and speed training, the load is too large still exists. In technology training most coach training methods and means too much attention to detail, speed training and approach failed to take off combine.
