With the vigorous development of knowledge economy, private colleges, as one of the patterns of running a school under the revolution and development of higher education in China, is in research. But there are still many problems in practice. The most conspicuous problem is the instability of the team of teachers, which caused by lacking of the encouragement measures.This paper which is in the bases of theories of management of human resources and motivation theories, researches the lack of the encouragement measures in part of the private colleges in shanghai. In different views of physiological and psychological needs of private college teachers in shanghai, it proposes to improve and perfect the incentive mechanism of the private colleges, which based on the incentive mechanism in current private colleges, it takes the advantage of companies and public colleges, to promote the development of private colleges in shanghai healthily.The paper illustrates the background and purpose and significance of the research. It introduces the idea and method and incentive mechanism related to the paper. Then through the positive investigation, it analyzes systematically to private college teaches structure and teacher's demands. And it illustrates characteristics of physiological and psychological demands of private college teachers. And it analyzes the reason of the lack of the incentive from both macro and micro factors.At last, it focuses on the research of improving and perfecting the incentive mechanism of private colleges. It aims to practice the essence of motivation theories into fact by the investigation and analysis of private college teachers'characteristics of professional and psychological and requirements. The paper pursues a fair salary schemes, creates a flexible personnel recruitment system and mechanism, develops a number of human resource management and a reasonable performance evaluation system, perfects a sound long-term effective mechanism for training, implements a career development plan, and creates a harmonious campus culture and improve the school, to build a more comprehensive framework for teacher incentives, which is in conformity with the current status of private college.
