The teaching of writing in the high school is a big issue, but also a great challenge. Even though many people have studied it, but in practice it will still encounter many problems. So by studying the ancient poetry, this paper attempts to find a new way of teaching of writing to guide students to write narratives, which may only address a small part of the problem in teaching of writing, but also a useful exploration.First of all, this paper presented the major problems currently existing in the Chinese writing in the high school:1. Students lack a strong literary background, resulting in lack of depth in writing.2. Being poor in content, their writing will not expand the thinking circling the topic.3. Their writing is short of true feeling, and the means of emotional expression appear too simple.Secondly, starting from the characteristics of poetry, it talks about the current role the ancient poetry plays in the teaching of writing:1. With the highly concise language, poetry has a beauty of rhythm and rhyme so large quantities of poetry reading can help students enhance the quality of literature and the strict spirit of poets can also affect students so that they are sure to treat the writing more seriously.2. The biggest feature in poetry is implication, encouraging people' s great imagination. That is, the use of ancient poetry can greatly train students'ability of imagination.3. The creating of poetry always puts emotion first, focusing on the "Expressing". This creative principle in today's teaching of writing should also be emphasized, the poets that time also pay attention to the skills in expressing the emotions. In most of the cases, they show the feelings in the description of the scene, focusing more on skills, which is of great inspiration and help to the students when writing narratives.Finally the paper lists the concrete measures:1. Guided by teachers and in independent study, students read a lot of poetry, thus increasing the accumulation of materials to enhance the literature literacy.2. Train students'imagination by means of grasping images, understanding artistic conception to recreate and understanding the background to restore the history.3. Guide students to experience the emotional appeal during the process of singing and reciting the poetry, allowing them to care about the inner feelings of the heart, and focus on the expression of true feelings in the creation of writing; select some typical scenery poems to generalize the ways of describing scenery, arouse the awareness of describing scenery, master the way of scene description so that the students can learn to express the emotions in the description of the scenery in the writing of prose and narratives and also make the way of emotional expression richer, more diverse.
