At present, along with the further development of quality-oriented education and the self-development of school, the value-orientation of school reform has been changed. To build and develop characteristic school become the value choice of many school. In practice, many schools have started the work of creating characteristic. There are more than one method to do this work, the SBCD is one the methods that has been chosen by many schools, for the central ideals of SBCD is personalized, based on personality and reflect the personality is the fundamental of SBCD, for the school, is to highlight its characteristic.The research based on case study-orientation, used the interview method, observation method and the method of items collecting, made an in-depth investigation to the middle school W. The research has taken 3 times group interviews and 15 times individual interview to 23 people who come from different grades, subjects and positions. Have gotten 9 recorded materials; has taken 7 times observations, written 11 times notes for observation; has collected items such as pictures, records for conferences, syllabus and so on. Based on this, the research has depicted the progress of characteristic school creating of middle school W, tried to reveal the mechanism of SBCD on characteristic school creating, and then try to think about the strategies of SBCD on characteristic school creating.The progress of characteristic school creating of middle school W can be divided into three periods:to posit the character, to form the character, and to develop the character, SBCD played an important role among the three periods. At first, the school based on its reality, taken the science and technology as the content of characteristic school creating, taken the SBCD as the basic methods of characteristic school creating, clearly expressed its target is to create the characteristic of S-T. Second; forming the character in SBCD, the curriculum goal is to develop students' innovation spirit and practical abilities. This cleared the orientation of characteristic school creating; the curriculum content came from local community, depended on the biological resources, this reflected the unique choice of the school; guaranteed the curriculum implements comprehensively, highlighted the character of the school. Third, the summary of experiences and the solution of problems have sustained its sustainable development.The progress of characteristic school creating of middle school W has given some basic strategic on characteristic school creating based on SBCD:to catch the opportunity, fully use the principal's leading role; based on school, to promote the characteristic creating with curriculum goals, curriculum contents and curriculum implements; expand influence, promote its popularity across the students' excellent performance; reflect timely, to reduce the resistance in progress of characteristic school creating, solute the problems effectively, make the school developed successfully.
