In recent years, core training has attracted more and more attention in sports training. To some degree, it makes up for the traditional strength training. Consequently, many experts attach much importance to the study of core training, especially the study of approaches to combine core training and sports event properly. However, this kind of study just starts in China. This thesis mainly explores the role of core training in men's hammer throw. The subjects of the research are four male hammer throw athletes from Xuzhou Normal University. The research lasts 24 weeks. During this period, the author mainly adopted core training, supplemented by training strength training. After this period, the author conducted a contrastive analysis from three aspects:core strength, physical performance and hammer throw skills. From this analysis, the author comes to the following conclusions:1 Core training in men's hammer throw can effectively improve athletes' core strength and core stability.2 Core training in men's hammer throw can improve athletes'speed, special strength, general strength and special skills.3 Core training in men's hammer throw can optimize athletes'hammer throw skills.4 Core training in men's hammer throw can reduce the total rotation time, increase time lapse rate of each circle and reduce the proportion of single support time to double support time. 5 A mix of core training methods is useful in all the stages of men's hammer throw training.
