The internationalization of the humanities and social science research is the necessary requirement in the era of globalization. Higher education and scientific research institutions are always the dominant force in our national research cause. This study is targeted at those top colleges whose authors have published more papers covered in SSCI and A&HCI databases of mainland, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan respectively. So we firstly collect those colleges' reaearch articles by a good deal of retrievaling and checking procedures in order to systematically understand their international scientific research productivities of the humanities and social science. By comparative analysis, their respective characteriatics and practical differences of scientific research have been discussed. This research can be referred by colleges concerned in this paper to adjust their own scientific research policies and improve the research level.A quantitative research using bibliometric analysis is carried out for the top colleges' international articles of mainland China published in the years from 1919 to 2009. Several basic parameters including number of literatures, distribution of publication years, document types and languages reveal differences such as the production of core journal papers, developing tendency of research achievements and their foreign language level. Document cooperation ratios, degrees of co-author are statisticed to reflect their cooperation scales. The diffrerences among those main research topics mirror various academic features and difficulties of study. Citation analysis has two aspects, citing and cited included. By comparing the quotation quantity, we can judge that whether authors have followed the academic writing norms and have the sensitive to intelligence information resource. Making full use of several evaluation indicators of citation analysis and research methods, the total and average cited frequency, h index, g index, SPSS TwoStep Cluster Analysis are all included to conduct a comprehensive study on their scitific research mode and research level. Furthermore, collaborative network diagram shows the position and importance of each organization. Literatures of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan universities are studied similarly to what have been done to colleges in mainland China. Universities in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan have higher level in the humanities and social science research, through output quantity and quality. Although the gaps of educational resources, research conditions and levels are objectively existence, greater efforts are necessary for promoting international scientific research productivity of mainland China.
