With the educational reform,our country had gradually found a tri—level joint management system of state,province and school,releasing some jurisdiction of curricula management to the school.As an important component of basic education,pre-school education made corresponding reform.In July 2001,Ministry of Education issued "This Compendium of The Kindergarten Education Instruction(Under Revision)".The Compendium prescribes that local governments provide guidance and kindergartens determine their own curriculum.This made the kindergartens have a bigger right to manage the curriculum.As the main person in charge of the kindergarten curriculum management.the kindergarten managers bear primary responsibility.Their management level is the key to the success of curriculum implementation.This paper is going to take the kindergarten managers of Shanghai as the research target and analyse the behavior of their curriculum management with deep and systematical explorations. Using documents,we sorted out the connotations and dimensionalities of curriculum management;through a questionnaire survey to ascertain the kindergarten managers'behavior in the curriculum management;through interview to analyze the attitude and way of handling contradictions,which helped us to understand the kindergarten managers'curriculum management behavior from another point of view.In this study,we pick 60 kindergarten managers for questionnaires with 51 effective copies being returned,and choose 6 volunteers in-depth interview.The result reveals that the behavior of the kindergarten managers' curriculum management embodies the concept of the advanced curriculum management,mainly in the determination of the kindergarten' curriculum target, course content selection, implementation methods,curriculum evaluation and other aspects of management.Meanwhile,the kindergarten managers' curriculum management shows a tendency of curriculum leadership.In the management process,the kindergarten managers can coordinate the interests of all parties, and their management is more scientific.Although the kindergarten managers' curriculum management is improving daily, but at the same time, it is also facing a series of problems, lacking of expert support, lacking of education administrative departments support,lacking of curriculum professional quality and evaluation tools, etc.
