Taking education for all-around development as the goal, the new curriculum reform advocates a program evaluation called "Based on the process, promoting development", and in practice reforming evaluation system is the key to the new curriculum reform, because it is directly related to whether the new curriculum reform can achieve substantive fruits or not. There are lots of the disadvantages and defects existing in the traditional history evaluation from students, which deviates from the customary value orientation of history education, over concentrates on the evaluation of results, and on this situation leads to one-sided development of students and does harm for their all-around development. Based on the comprehensive reflection on traditional history evaluation of students, the paper seeks to construct a new evaluation platform, comprehensively analyzes the shortcomings of traditional evaluation system, and describes the meaning and theoretical sources of the students' developmental evaluation. With the theory of the students'developmental evaluation to guide the new construction of student evaluation system about history of senior middle school, the development of evaluation can guide us how to carry it out in concrete practice by combining the concrete teaching practice. Combining the developmental evaluation and terminal evaluation, we put forward the some functional evaluation methods, such as archive evaluation, routine closed-door examination associated with open-book examination evaluation and exhibition of historical works evaluation etc.. In the practice of evaluation we should focus on the evaluation process and individual differences in order to improve history teaching and evaluation methods in senior middle school, and promote students'all-round development.
