Commenting on English test papers is part of English teaching in junior high schools, especially during the grade three of junior high school's English teaching. But nowadays, our comment class of English test paper exists some problems. A lot of students think that this type of class is low efficiency and time waste. Also, students' subject position has not been improved all the time. On the other hand, under the influence of new curriculum reform, it is demanded that teachers should change their out-of-date teaching ideas, and teachers'role in English teaching has been renewed. Teachers'role in English teaching is shaped from passive knowledge implementer into positive cooperator and guide.Under this circumstance, the pattern of comment class of English test paper should be changed in order to comply with the demand of new curriculum reform, the students'ability development and the students'cultivation.Using methods such as questionnaire investigation, classroom observation, teachers'interview, this study will know the status quo of comment class of English test paper in junior high school. The questionnaire investigation and the teachers' interview were carried out in Yanghang Junior High School Attached to East China Normal University. Among these, the questionnaire investigation is the key part. The questionnaire investigation consists of five parts, including the students'attitude towards this type of class, the class interaction, the teaching method, the teaching material, the students'attitude on the mistakes, and the strategy.Through the investigation and interview, the main problems are concluded as follows:(1) From the aspect of class interaction, the teacher-student and the student-student interaction is rather little.(2) The teachers'guidance on learning strategy and method for students is rather few.(3) The teaching content of comment class of English test paper does not focus on some important points.(4) The teaching method has some shortcomings, which should be adjusted.(5) The frequency of multi-media usage is too low, which makes students feel so bored.(6) Teacher often criticizes students'mistakes in a passive emotion.With regard to these, the thesis will put forward some suggestions according to the status quo of this type of English class. I hope this study can offer some referential value to the teaching of commenting on English test papers in Junior High Schools.
