Books for teacher education play a very important position in teacher education. East China Normal University Press plays a leading role in the publication of books for teacher education. East China Normal University Press (ECNUP), under Ministry of Education at the central level, is a comprehensive university publishing house featured by publications of education, psychology, humanities and social sciences. The present dissertation in its five chapters expatiates on the development and transition of the publications for teacher education in ECNUP during 1980 and 2009.In chapter one, the article basically reviews the background of the thesis, significance, the current status, ideas and approach of the research.In chapter two, the article basically reviews the overall development of the books for teacher education published by ECNUP, which covers the quantity and categories of the publications, the data on the authors and the analysis of Daxia Series.In chapter three, the article expounds the transition of the theme of the publications for teacher education in the three phases of ECNUP. In the preliminary period of development, foundational theories for education and teaching became the main focus of the publications. In the era of accelerating development f, education theories were still the key for publishing, and meanwhile a collection introducing course teaching around the world was published, and sets of classics were translated and published as well. Books on curriculum and classroom teaching began to receive attention in such a phase. Daxia Series designed for frontline teachers, with the core on class management, course teaching and teacher education is highlighted in analyzing in the period of reform and innovation.In chapter four, the article basically dissects the characteristics and trend of the publications of ECNUP for teacher education. Its characteristics show mainly in the follow areas:the number of books increases from the constant speed to leaps. Topics of books from single to multiple. The publication of books keeps abreast the trend of educational reform and bases on abundant academic resources of ECNU.In chapter five, the article basically dissects the experience of the publications of ECNUP for teacher education, which implies the publication of books should follow the requirement of the situation, shifting from a scattered and closed mode to a systematic and open one.
