The teachers in primary school have been proposed new requirements since the new curriculum reform happened. More and more people pay attention to the class quality, the class efficiency and how to achieve the teaching objectives efficiently in such a short teaching time. These are all affected by the teaching time. The gap between the state of the starting point before the teaching activities and the state of the ending point after teaching activities is the extent or outcome of the students'learning, or the status of the achieve of the value of the teaching time. This paper focus on the class teaching time and discards the traditional research method of teacher teaching time, adopts in-depth narrative inquiry on the scene and carefully explores the stories of teacher's class teaching hours.Firstly, this paper analyzes the previous relatives documents on the class teaching time of primary school teachers both at home and abroad, then analyzes the teaching time from different dimensions, such as content structure and form structure and summarizes the links between teaching time and teaching benefit and teaching efficiency. The class teaching time is defined as the time passed in the course of class teaching, which matches with the teaching processes. It mainly refers to pre-task teaching time, while-task teaching time, post-task teaching time and includes the teaching time used to teach subject knowledge, concepts and skills which are directly related to the teaching activities and the time-consuming which aren't related to the teaching activities, such as arranging students into groups, maintaining classroom discipline, arranging learning tasks. It matches with the class teaching methods, which mainly refers to the time of teachers teaching and students passive acceptance, the time of teachers'guidance and students'initiative exploration, the time of students' skills training. Secondly, in the background of the theories mentioned above, narrative inquiry was implemented to describe the English public class of the A teacher, in order to analyze the allocation in different teaching procedures and methods. Meanwhile, the paper describe different types of courses to observe the differences in allocation of teaching time, including the new content class, the revision class and the practice class. Finally, the paper generalizes the inspiration through the factors that affect the A teacher concept of class teaching time. Also the paper puts forward three proposals for the future research and presents study reflects.
