Practical ability is an necessaryt factor for people's full development, it is also an important taiining objiective which had been clearly speok out in the new curriculum reform. Currently, many schools and education sectors gradually pay attention to this subject. Becase ablity traning must be started from childhood, the practical course which set up by education sector have been paid many attention by many teachers and schools. Many scholls in our country already carried out this course. However, traditional teaching methods and the existing people's selection system, making the practice ability of primary school students are still facing many difficulties and challenges. In response to this current situation, this paper attempts to question students practical ability to conduct a preliminary study, this total is divided into three parts.The first part is an overview of practical ability of students.Through the relevant theoretical analysis and research, combining philosophy, psychology, education concepts in the discussion on the practical ability try to interpret the meaning of the practical ability; then according to primary school students'practical ability characteristics, summarized the main elements of practical ability, and combining primary school students'mental and physical developing characteristics analysis the main features of capacity development.The second part is about the primary value of practical ability. From students interest, motivation, individual quality and innvation ability respectivly ito discuss it.The third part analysised the existing situation of primary students'practical ability in our country. Summary the major problem appears in the course of practice ability of students. Respectively, from the education system, the implementation of school curriculum, teachers and community awareness on training students'practical ability to discussed it. Meanwhile, proposed relavent training strategies according to the main issues:on the education system level, draw up perfect training objectives for practical ablity development, and develop talent assessment system, enhance the social emphasis on practical traning; and according to the curriculum implementation process, teachers should change their traditional teaching concept, while do great efforts to develop curriculum resources, to enrich the content of practical ability training courses trougth muti-channel, try to make students practical ability training be really put in place.
