Procrastination is a kind of complex psychological phenomenon which formed by three elements: cognition, emotion and behavior. Procrastination has three characteristics that are voluntary,avoidance and irrational . First, Procrastination caused not because the objective events delays ,but is the subjective behavior of individual. Second, the delayer wouldn't do should do or originally planned mission ,who show the tendency of withdrawal. Third, procrastination is a kind of irrational behavior. Although ones who has procrastination behavior can predict the situation will became even worse, but will still continue to do it. Procrastination behavior often gives individual a strong pressure, which delays target reaching and affect students' learning and life. The purpose of this study was to inspect the status and the characteristics of the delay behavior of college students ,and to discusses the relationship of procrastination behavior , perfectionism and perceived stress.Through data analysis, the author draws the following conclusions:First, overall, procrastination is not very serious on college students, but there is still 20.5% college students will appear avoid avoidant procrastination, 24 percent has arousal procrastination.Second, As for demographic variables, there are significant gender differences in the procrastination of college students. The arousal procrastination, avoidant procrastination of male college students were significantly higher than female students. In the arousal procrastination level, senior student is significantly higher than freshman, sophomore , junior student. In avoidant procrastination level, senior students still above the freshman and the sophomore.Third, the college students who belongs to high procrastination group get a lower scores of the adaptive perfectionism than the students of low procrastination group; The maladaptive perfectionism of college students who belongs to high procrastination is higher than university of students low procrastination group.Forth, he college students who belongs to high procrastination group get a higher scores of the tension and out of control feeling than the students of low procrastination group. Fifth, College students'perfectionism level and perceived stress have good predictive effects on procrastination. Perceived stress plays a moderating role between perfectionism and procrastination.
