New Curriculum Standard issued in 2001 recommends on improving the students' skills of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing Chinese through the comprehensive practical activities in an all-round way. Judging from this theory, most of the traditional chinese materials detained in the aspect of the Reading Materials of mother tongue. The enhancive part of comprehensive learning, writing, oral communication in experimental teaching material of People Education Press Edition confronts with the old compressive part of texts, exercises after texts, forewords, illustrations, notes, filler texts. But this change has not changed the fundamental position of the reading's part in the teaching material. Its success or failure is still the key to influence the overall situation.This text uses the systematology research approach. The "introduction" of this text suggests that the reading's part of experimental teaching material should be regarded as an organic whole which is made up the three subsystems of "selected text system", "practice system", "aided system". The Main part of this text is divided into three chapters which analysis their establishment gain and loss concretely. "Selected text system" adopts the international popular theme unit mode, but the concept breaks away from student's life reality, and lack practicability, era, unity and ladder,etc…"Practice system" takes three respects into consideration at the same time: Knowledge and ability, course and method, emotion attitude and values. Its global design lacks pertinence, validity, phased, procedure. The structure of "aided system" is very complete, but its detail is arranged very coarse,its content lacks globality, its innovative meaning is greater than the practice result. "Conclusion" finally combine the full text, find their arrangement does not have any relation each other. They have not formed the organic whole with unified idea. Then the text summarize the whole establishment characteristic of the People Education Press Edition: on one hand, the efforts that the editor writes text books with the modern education idea are very valuable; on the other hand, the situation that this kind of efforts needs improving is very obvious too. When editing the teaching material, we should pay attention to strengthening systematicness and overall situation view, strengthen student's efficiency and depth to learn texts.
