As a new round of high school language curriculum reform continues, the elective course construction as an important element, appears in the "Ordinary Standards of High School Language Curriculum (Experimental)" . This indicates that the traditional high school language courses breaks the core of a single compulsory-course-oriented pattern, so that students could be freed from the binding to a compulsory basis, while elect the courses based on individual strengths, preferences and needs. In the early years of the implementation of the new curriculum reform, many provinces followed the "new curriculum standards for high school (experimental)", the construction and implementation of curriculum elective courses gained some initial success, but there are still many problems.This paper examines and explores the implementation of the high school elective courses in four parts. The first part is an introduction from the issue of the background, language status of elective studies and related research literature, research design, etc.. Part II: an overview of high school electives new curriculum. This part focuses on the analysis of elective high school language definition, characteristics, structure, through the comparison of the language elective and required courses, recognizing the importance of the implementation of elective courses. Further the understanding of the process of curriculum implementation issues and obstacles with the combination with the current status of implementation of the language elective courses . Part III: high school elective curriculum implementation language theoretical analysis. Lay the foundation for the effective implementation of elective courses on the basis of the history of the development of China's high school elective language, theory of the language elective curriculum implementation knowledge and implementation requirements. This section also proposed the teaching methods for the language elective course and five factors of impacts on the implementation (the value of courses, curriculum organization and coordination of the course, curriculum evaluation methods, teaching staff and teaching resources), which leads to the strategic thinking of high school language elective curriculum implementation. The last part is the highlight of the thesis: A high school elective curriculum implementation based on a certain language teaching material– take the Renjiao version for example. Currently there is a wide range of teaching materials for language elective courses, in this paper the author took Renjiao version books for example which is published by the authority press, trying to give some suggestions and guidance on the current Chinese elective courses from the angles of guiding ideology, contents of module teaching , sttructures of teaching materials and teaching strategies and other aspects.
