As universities are knowledge-intensive organizations, how to imply knowledge management in these special atmospheres are increasingly attract the attention from education and knowledge management academia. In this process, the evaluation of knowledge management in universities has become a very important part, so the evaluation of university knowledge management is of great significance.Nowadays, research on knowledge management, in particular, the evaluation of university knowledge management is still in the initial stage. Furthermore, the focus is in great part on a specific type of knowledge, personnel or teams, which obviously can not meet the needs of overall evaluation of knowledge management. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to look at the whole situation, and explore the construction of a comprehensive evaluation of knowledge management model, supply a comprehensive evaluation of the university.This paper defines the meaning of knowledge management, the content and scope of this study, in order to conduct the evaluation of university knowledge management. In the process of the establishment of comprehensive evaluation model, using a systematic analysis method, this paper analyzes the content and evaluation structure from top to down. According to APQC knowledge management model and Arthur Andersen's definition of knowledge management, this paper construct the dimensional model of knowledge management evaluation, including five dimensions- knowledge, knowledge workers, knowledge activities, knowledge management tools, knowledge management environment. For each dimension, this paper considered successful experience in the areas of knowledge management, knowledge management theory and findings, or mature model of the cross-cutting areas of research, in order to build a comprehensive evaluation model. Based on the evaluation model and previous study, this paper compiles a set of pre-selected targets, and establishes a comprehensive evaluation index system to study the university knowledge management situations. This paper also supplies the meaning and measurement methods to make it more operational. In order to verify the practical value of the index system, and to understand the actual situation of university knowledge management, the paper takes a use of multi-level grey synthesis judgment model to evaluate 61 universities. Finally, it evaluates the knowledge management of a certain university in the use of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, and then gives the evaluation scores.
