Fujian Senior Middle Schools have decided to apply Research Learning as a required course during the 2001-2002 school year. The research learning is based on its countercurriculum. Hence, the Research-based Type Curriculum comes about which focuses on the method of Research Learning. Directed by the Education Department of Fujian Province, we carry out studies of Research-based Type Curriculum in Fuzhou Gezhi Middle School and I am in charge of it; Since the Research-based Type Curriculum is totally 憂ew curriculum, there is no set laws to follow. So we have to face quite a few problems: What is the target of the course? What are the subjects needed? How to carry it out? How to evaluate it? Only after we solve these problems, can the studies of Research-based Type Curriculum be successful. in addition Research-based Type Curriculum concerns much about practice at school. There抯 no doubt that we抣l meet with success and failure during the cause, which requires us to sum up the experience. Since last year, I have been conducting elementary research on feasibility of Researchbased Type Curriculum for senior middle students. Lots of my ideas have been proved to perfect the theory concerned. I combined two methods, para-experiment and empirical generalization in the research. The experiment is carried out completely under normal teaching circumstance; the result of the analysis is not from comparison of two different classes at different levels but from the development of the tested class of different ph~ises. According to the guide]ine of the project, I put the theory into practice, summarise the experience timely and accumulate research yieldings of each phase .The thesis starts from the background of opening up Research-based Type Curriculum. eleherates on the characteristcs, psychological basis and target system of the curriculum, probes into the organization application of such curriculum and finally concludes the achievements during the research and proposes the drawbacks and problems that deserve furthur investigation.
