At the beginning of the 21 St century, the deep revolution and great development of society, economy and science and culture has entailed reform in mathematics education. The core of mathematics education reform lies in reform of mathematics curriculum, and the basic research of reform in mathematics curriculum includes, first, investigation of this curriculum抯 historical evolution, and second, investigation and analysis of present implementation of mathematics curriculum in China. This present dissertation aims to do this basic research. By looking back on several reforms in senior-high-school mathematics curriculum and investigating and analyzing present situation of implementation of senior-high-school mathematics curriculum, this dissertation sums up historical experiences and lessons and law of the development of mathematics curriculum, and puts forward some advice and suggestions for the ongoing mathematics curriculum reform. The whole dissertation is composed of four parts. Part One uses such methods as history researching and literature review to look back on and analyze the evolution of mathematics curriculum for senior high schools since the founding of People抯 Republic of China, summarizes experiences and lessons from all previous mathematics curriculum reforms and tries to discover the law of the development of China抯 mathematics curriculum. Part Two, based on investigation and analysis of present implementation of senior-high-school mathematics curriculum in China, finds out advantages and disadvantages of the present mathematics curriculum, and provides the ongoing curriculum reform with factual ii W~: basis. Part Three discusses relevant factors that have bearings upon reform of senior-high-school mathematics curriculum in terms of theory, for the purpose of helping the ongoing reform fit in with relationship between these factors. Part Four, on the basis of the previous parts, puts forward some advice for the reform of senior-high-school mathematics curriculum in respects to its basic ideas, curriculum objective, curriculum proper and curriculum implementation.
