College campus culture refers to all the material civilizations, spiritual civilizations, their progresses of formation and all their total which have been created by the college's administrative personnel, teachers and students in the fields of education, teaching, administration and service activities on campus of colleges and universities. College campus culture comprises material culture, ideological culture, institutional culture and culture of pattern. College campus culture, as a regional sub-culture of the social culture, has its unique effects which are the functions of directing goals, inspiring intelligence, molding personalities and standardizing behavior. It is of vital importance to strengthen campus culture construction in institutions of higher learning and build a fine and active campus culture environment, which is beneficial for the students' healthy maturity and the realization of educational cultivation goals in colleges and universities. We may have a clear train of thought as to the campus culture construction in the institutions of higher learning through the studies on the contents, functions, origins, principles, mechanism and mistaking traps of campus culture construction in colleges and universities. Therefore the studies may play an active guiding role in the following directing entities of colleges campus culture construction: 1) the culture designing and culture atmosphere of campus symbolic buildings; 2) culture setting and teaching activities in the study areas; 3) culture setting in the living areas; 4) recreational activities hi the recreation areas; 5) all kinds of theme activities in the extracurricular classrooms; 6) the administration atmosphere of campus spirits.
