Open experiment teaching is advanced according to close disadvantages of traditional experiment teaching. It is an inevitable tendency of reform of current experiment teaching of colleges and universities. Open experiment teaching is not only single laboratory opening, but also the whole reform of experiment teaching system. This thesis tries to explore open experiment teaching from three points of view such as its value, its features and its conditions.The first section of the thesis discusses chiefly why to carry out open experiment teaching and what open experiment teaching is. Because experiment teaching has special significance in cultivating the talented persons, the development of times and society and high education urgently require colleges and universities to reinforce experiment teaching. The author thinks, the teaching contents of the traditional experiment teaching are chiefly the verification of theories, out of dated, impracticable and ignoring the students; the teaching methods are rigid; the management emphasizes unification and the utilization of experiment equipment is not very frequent. The above disadvantages are mainly caused by closeness of traditional experiment teaching. So open experiment teaching is advanced. Compared with the traditional experiment teaching, the "openness" of open experiment teaching incarnates mainly in the following five aspects: the openness of experiment time (the time is not prescribed in unison), the openness of contents of experiment teaching (to establish a unattached experiment teaching system, to develop with the times, to keep in close contact with practice, and to be chosen more freely by students), the openness of methods of experiment teaching (to lay emphasis on enlightenment and guiding), the openness of means of experiment and management (to use computer and network to teach and manage), the openness of evaluation of experiment teaching (to attach importance to cultivation of comprehensive ability and original spirit). Advantages of open experiment teaching can be found in cultivation of students' abilities, in construction of experiment teachers' members and in the development of laboratory.The second section of the thesis analyses chiefly the characters and types of open experiment teaching. Compared with traditional experiment teaching, the authorconsiders, that the most distinguished characters of open experiment teaching lie in: the flexibility is its soul (flexible learning course of individual student, flexible management course and flexible teaching contents and methods), strengthening and strictness of teaching objectives is its guarantee and the utmost development of students is its objective. On the basis of the former researches, according to the three main factors (experiment time, experiment contents, experiment subject) that affect the particular form of open experiment teaching, this thesis classifies open experiment teaching into three types: one dimension openness of the time of experiment teaching, two dimension openness of the time and the content of experiment teaching and three dimension openness of time and content and subject of experiment teaching.The third section of the thesis discusses the conditions of carrying out open experiment teaching. The author thinks, the open experiment teaching cannot be separated from renewal of notions, stipulation of policies, construction of experiment members and configuration of experiment equipment. Renewing notions are to change the notion that experiment equals verification, to establish the notion that being open is the duty of laboratory, to know that laboratory cannot develop without openness and to change the notion which discriminates experiment technology. As to the stipulation of policies, the policies of supporting open experiment teaching must be stipulated to stimulate the enthusiasm of the experiment members to carry out open experiment teaching, to arouse the students' activity and initiative to make experiment, to undertake funds to support open experiment tea...
