Learning adaptability problem (LAP) is not only one common mental health problem of pupils' learning, but also a knotty problem of long-standing which directly affects the quality of our primary education. In the process of quality-oriented education, especially of mental quality education in primary schools, how to scientifically diagnose and evaluate the students' learning adaptability and provide them scientific and efficient instruction by which to promote their learning efficiency, are the vital subjects which have to be settled urgently, hi this dissertation, the author explored the main types and characteristics of pupils' learning adaptability problem through questionnaire and interview investigation. In view of existing situation of pupils' learning adaptability, the author conducted an educational interfering experiment to test and verify the validity and feasibility of an integrative mode, which was applied and anticipated to be effective in promoting the pupils' learning adaptability. The following conclusions were drawn in the light of the investigation and experiment results.(1)Totally speaking, learning adaptability of grade 4 &5 students only comes up to the medium level. About 30 to 40 percents of them have learning adaptability problem in varying degrees.(2)Girls' total average level of learning adaptability is much better than boys' on significant level, but the disparity between them is lessening when their school grade increases.(3)Learning adaptability problem of grade 4 &5 students can be attributed to four main kinds-lack of learning motivation, deficit of learning strategies, maladjustment to learning environment and poor mental health. Among of them, maladjustment to learning environment, especially to the school interpersonal environment is the most serious, problem hi both learning strategies and mental health is secondly most serious, problem of learning motivation is relatively less serious.(4)The integrative interfering appeared to significantly promote the total level of pupils' learning adaptability, but(1) the effect on its seven respects differed:(a) Statistically significant gains in .learning attitude, school environment, more significant gains in listening skills, independence and willpower, most significant gains in physical and mental health, family environment were showed, (b) Gains in learning skills did not reach the significant level.(2)Students in poor learning adaptability (PLA) group showed more significant gains, but the growth of both excellent and moderate learning adaptability (ELA&MLA) group didn't reach the significant level. The listening skills, learning skills, family environment and school environment of students in PLA group showed significant gains. Their physical and mental health, learning attitude showed most significant gains.(5)Under the condition of this experiment, Students' achievements in Chinese language but not in mathematics had been significantly increased by the gains of their learning adaptability. Compared with the students in excellent achievements (EA) group, students both in poor and moderate achievements (PA&MA) group showed respectively significant or more significant increase in their Chinese language achievements. This research has significant value of promoting the quality of primary education and total level of pupils' mental health in theoretical and practical way. Theoretically speaking, it has not only analyzed the main types and characteristics of pupil' learning adaptability problem, but also verified the validity and feasibility of the integrative mode, which has provided some theoretical basis for instruction of learning adaptability, prevention and correction of learning adaptability problem. Practically speaking, it has explored the educational interfering strategies on learning adaptability problem, which has also provided some concrete accesses and methods for instruction of learning adaptability, prevention and correction of learning adaptability problem.
