< I >Putting forward the questionNowadays we are very much concerned about what types of teaching model should be used to implement "Curriculum standard of RE and Health ",There are two models in other countries ,namely the combination of P.E and Health and the separation of those(CM stands for the former, while SM stands for the later). In our country a few schools have done some test ,but what type of teaching model is more suitable in implementing "Curriculum standard of P.E and Health "?As the saying goes, Experiment is necessary. To answer this question action research and practice are needed. I have experimented with these two teaching models.< II > Design and Process of the ExperimentWith regard to teaching instructions, models, aims, content, evaluation and research, I designed and made this experiment plan in detail, taking "Health field(level 4)" of the course "Curriculum standard of P.E and Health" as a sample. This research is conducted on boy students of Junior 2 in the fourteen Middle school of Hohhot, who were arranged in two different groups: "CM " for the"Research Group"(R.G); while "SM" for the "Referent Group"(Re.G), It was carried out between March and June in 2002. Experiment work plans mere made to effectively control various factors. Results(1)P.E activities(a) Stamina: Speed (50m): improvements in both RG and ReG ,no obvious differences; Outdoor endurance( 1000m) RG better than ReG, obvious difference; flexibility (football, basketball), no obvious difference .(b) Participation of in-class activities as for attendance, interest and attitude: RG better than ReG but no obvious difference. Attendance of competition RG better than ReG and there is obvious difference.(c) P.E activity after class: RG better man ReG and there is obvious difference.(2)P.E Awareness(a) For the effect of P.E textbook on the development of body condition: RG a little better than ReG.(b)For the level of concern about P.E activities: RG better than ReG(c) For the feeling of the curriculum of P.E and Health RG better than ReG,and there is obvious difference.(3)Health Activity(a) In-class activities: RG better than ReG and there is obvious difference.(b) After-class activities: RG better than ReG and there is obvious difference. (4) Health Awareness(a) For the understanding of the concept "health" :RG a little better than ReG (b)For the level of concern about health: no obvious difference half way through the experiment, but there is obvious difference in the final stage of the experiment.(c) For the command of the knowledge about RE and Health: Rg better than ReG and there is obvious difference. Conclusion and Suggestions(1) Conclusion(a) Direct outcome: evaluated as a whole, "CM" is better than "SM".(b) Sustainable effect: "CM" can improve students initiative of taking part in sport activities, and help students form good habit of health, stimuiate their motivation in other lessonsTo sum up, "CM" is a suitable teaching model in implementing "Curriculum standard of RE and Health"(2) Suggestion(a) Do extensive action research to prove the theorical and practical significance of "CM" or search for a better teaching model, paying attention to the integration of elements and clarity of aims in the process of teaching model implementation(b) Establish a research project to study: the "Curriculum standard of P.E and Health" thoroughly.(c) We should notice that P.E and Health oriented course should based on practice. (d)The change of Leaders' views and the improvement of teachers' quality are thekey to the implementation of "Curriculum standard of P.E and Health...
