The curriculum reform needs new teachers who can adapt to the reform well. The exploitation and utilization of curriculum resources becomes not only an important part of the reform, but also a correct approach to teachers' professional development.Teachers' professional development is a constant process, which involves students of normal schools, a new teacher, an experienced teacher, and a practicing educator. Teachers' professional development is essential to their development. Teachers' professional development contains internalization of teacher's professional values, getting professional skills, accepting professional regulations and forming professional characteristics. The basic contents of teachers' professional development are their value, educational notion, knowledge and capabilities. Teachers' professional development is effected not only by outside environment, such as school culture, headmaster, their colleagues and educational policies, but also by internal factors, such as teachers' need, emotion, interests, attitude towards teaching. Their teaching is the most important factor in their professional development. It has great significance in the development of society, education and individual teachers.Curriculum resources, which can be utilized in the overall process of curriculum development including design, implementation, evaluation and so on, are the sum of manpower, material and natural resources. It is characterized as varied, potential, specific and multiqualitative. The exploitation of curriculum resources is to find out curriculum resources which can be used in curriculum and establish contacts with educational and instructive activities. It should abide by the principles of being open, economic, specific and creative. Generally speaking, the steps are setting objectives, evaluating and selecting curriculum resources and finally assessing the results. Teachers' correct view of curriculum resource is the most important factors due to the facts that at present the research of curriculum resources is at the stage of beginning. So the only approach to it is to improve researches of theory and practice, better teachers' training and promote teachers' self reflection and self-development. That is to say, the exploitation and utilization of curriculum resources should be implemented according to the characteristics of areas, schools, subjects and teachers.On one hand, the exploitation and utilization of curriculum resources can find out aright way for teachers' professional development, promote teachers' development, create physiological conditions for teachers' professional development, improve the levels of teacher's educational understanding, guide teachers' professional development, better their knowledge structure, improve implicit educational knowledge and awareness of cooperation and help them construct teaching culture. On the other, it can upgrade teachers' knowing of curriculum resources, enlarge the range of curriculum resources, diversify the development methods and better the structure of curriculum resources as well. As a result, teachers' professional development is improved gradually. Rich curriculum resources mean that teachers' professional development is an area with no boundaries.The conclusions mentioned above is also confirmed by a case study of an English teacher, whose professional development by actively exploiting curriculum resources gives us a good example.How to make the curriculum resources exploitation the medium of teachers' professional development? How does a teacher exploit curriculum resources effectively? The suggestions are as following: First, teachers must actively attend practical actions concerning with curriculum reform, change their teaching style thoroughly, study the methods and ways of exploitation and utilization of curriculum resources, establish sound view of curriculum resources exploitation, pay attention to the management of curriculum resources.
