Since the founding of China, China has carried out eight large basic education curriculum reforms along with the country’s process of modernization. The Problems in the exploitation and utilization of curriculum resources are put forward in deepening reform of basic education in China. In2001, the government promulgated 《the Basic Education Curriculum Reform Program)) which clearly outlined "Curriculum resource is the source of course factors which also can be the necessary and direct Condition for implementing."《Compulsory English Curriculum Standards (2011)》 pointed out that "English curriculum resources including English textbooks,support systems, teaching environment and other teaching materials which can conducive to the development of students’ ability to use language. Such as audio-visual materials, visual aids and in-kind, multimedia software, radio and television programs, network resources, newspapers and magazines as well as a library, class, school teaching facilities and creation of teaching environment and so on. In addition, curriculum resources include human resources, such as student resources, teacher resources, and parent resources. Their life experiences, emotional experience and knowledge structure can be valuable curriculum resources." The role of curriculum resources becomes more and more prominent with the deepening of curriculum reform. The problems in the exploitation and utilization of curriculum resources gradually arouse educators concern.The exploitation and utilization of curriculum resources must have real value in conjunction with schools and subjects. This thesis is a case study of empirical research whose framework can be divided into three parts:The first part (Chapter1and2):The thesis gave a brief introduction of the English curriculum resources after doing a survey on the current curriculum resources. Firstly, the thesis discussed how to define curriculum resource and what can be curriculum resources. The thesis gave the definition of curriculum resource after analyzing definitions of a variety of curriculum resources:English curriculum resource refers to the education materials which can support students to learn English. Secondly, the thesis analyzes the classification, the typical characteristics, and the function of the English curriculum resources. Thirdly, the thesis gave an overview of the English curriculum resources. This part is the theoretical part of this thesis.The second part (Chapters3and4):a case study in the exploitation and utilization of curriculum resources. This part introduced the research in Wuhan Changqing No.1School. Firstly, the thesis analyzed how to exploit and utilize English curriculum resources with characteristic in the school by teach and research group of every grade from listening, reading, speaking and writing. Secondly, the thesis summed up the effect of the exploitation and utilization of curriculum resources to students, teachers and parents by analyzing the results of the questionnaire and interview.The third part (Chapter5):The summary and reflection on the case study in Wuhan Changqing No.l School. Firstly, the thesis summed up the problems in the case study. Secondly, the thesis discussed how to improve the exploitation and utilization of curriculum resources according to these problems. At last, the thesis gave recommendations and a reflection according to the inadequacies.
