Document-analyzing method and experience-summarizing method are used in the article, Based on researching into the theory about mathematical inquiry learning, the writer analyses the values and the foundations of setting mathematical inquiry learning in the new mathematical curriculum in senior high school. The analysis provides the proofs of the necessity and the accessibility for setting mathematical inquiry learning. Then the writer gives the conception of setting mathematical inquiry learning in the new mathematical curriculum in senior high school.The article includes the following four parts.Part 1. Researching into the theory of mathematical inquiry learning.In the part, the writer first makes the definition of mathematical inquiry learning, then thoroughly analyses the particular meaning and basic characters, at last, the writer compares the mathematical inquiry learning with mathematical project learning and analyses the differences between them two.Part 2.
