An Inquiry Into The Present Situation Of Puberty Sex Education In Sanming Prefecture

Since the nation's reform and opening-up in the late 1970s,the traditional environment has taken an irrevocable course of opening-up to the outside world.The contradiction between the inadequate and stagnant puberty sex education and the quickly-spread unhealthy social influences has become even sharper than ever ,thus recent years have seen a continuous rise in juvenile sex delinquency.As an important conponent part of quality education,puberty sex education has been carried out.its importance and urgency are obvious and evident.But due to some reasons.the practice of this nation's puberty sex education has been beset with difficulties.This thesis has tried to find out the present situation of puberty sex education in Sanming Prefecture by the form of a questionnaire with the view of seeking an effective way of helping promote the education.Results of the inquiry show that the current situation of this problem here in Sanming allows of no optimism for us .To follow are the main facts: firstly,the contradictions between the middle school students' lack of sex knowledge and their want of it,between their physically precocious sex development and mentally insufficient preparations: and the worrying fact that their concept of and attitude towards sex are wrong;secondly,weak home education with sex due to parents'handling it in a traditional consenative way;thirdly,unability to aquire sufficient attention in schools with simple and crude teaching methods.In order to put an end to such unheasthy trends as soon as possible,the writer deems it necessary to start with the following three aspects: firstly,taking a correct attitude towards puberty sex education to keep us from the faults of it;secondly,improving sex education in schools to earnestly give full play to the "main-channel"role of the schools;thirdly,coordination and cooperation between the schools, the families ahd the whole society.
