Base on a definition and concept of the modern educational technology, this study analyzes the development, the model, the experience and the influence of the modern educational technology in Macau. This study discusses the trend in developing modern educational technology in Macau and proposes key questions on its application toward education reform.This thesis is divided into six chapters. Chapter One introduces the implication, the current situation, the hypothesis and the model of studying the modern educational technology in the primary and secondary schools in Macau. Chapter Two discusses its basic development from the angles of the education equipment, the curricular and the education theories. Chapter Three is an analysis on the current situation of the modern educational technology in Macau from the perspectives of the curricular, computer-assisted teaching, multi-media teaching, the development of the networking and distant-learning. Chapter Four examines the influence on the traditional primary and secondary education from the education reform, the learning environment, and the teacher-student relationship when the modern educational technology is in place. Chapter Five covers the five areas of education funding, the basic equipment, the software, teacher training and the overall planning to discuss the experience in developing themodern educational technology in the primary and secondary schools in Macau. Chapter Six investigates the challenges and the trend in developing the modern educational technology and attempts to propose corresponding strategies.I believe the application of modern education techniques is anindicator for the achievement of modern education reform which hasgreat significance for the development of primary and secondary education in Macau.
