To improve the thinking ability is one of the most important program goals of chemistry teaching in high school. Strengthening the training of thinking ability is conducive for improving students' all-life studying ability for that the students' thinking is in a period of being developed and shaped in high school. Chemistry is a primary discipline, during the development of it many peculiar thinking methods and strategy have being formed. It may be said that chemistry knowledge itself is a kind of chargement for thinking. Chemistry can't be replaced in the training of students' thinking.To be aimed at the shortcomings existing in the traditional chemistry teaching and the characters of youth' thinking, the paper puts forward some plans for thinking training what are three preludes, four kinds of strategy and assessment system. The preludes are developing the construction of cognition, cultivating personalities and constructing fine atmosphere for teaching. The strategy is based on the research on the psychological mechanism of thinking, and tries to make students experience and adjust the thinking course, improve metacognition, accept the sequent training and improve the creative thinking to upgrade the thinking level. At last, the operant evaluations can regulate and guide the execution of the strategy.The thinking-training instruction system is helpful not only to improving students' thinking ability and quality of chemistry study, but also to improving all-life studying ability and creative ability, and to forming good personalities. And it is important for cultivating a large quantity of high-quality talents for country construction.
