With the need of development research, statistical analysis has been applied in every knowledge. People simulate the data in their interest, bring forward some questions and forecast the future , at last they give some useful advisement to the decision-maker. Especially with the applied linear model, people know the data better by its powerful analysis and diagnostic ability. The development of population is one of the most important parts of city development. This thesis gives some research on Chongqing city's population data by several models, which reveals the population problem. The last chapter analyzes the temporary habitant population by the statistics methods. This thesis consists four principle departments as follows:The second chapter gives the research of Chongqing city's population growing modal. This chapter researches the current population condition of Chongqing, analyzes and predicts the development tendency. Several of new population methods based on different population predict modals are presented, their characteristic are analyzed and compared. The third chapter gives the research of Chongqing city's population distribution. Base on the population density we classify the population data with classification method, and then analyze each cluster of data. In the end, we the find population distribution is approximately according with negative exponential function modal, that means the city population is in adolescent period. The fourth chapter analyzes the population data of temporary habitant with regression method, according to district and economic difference. The conclusion provided for develop policy makers is that Chongqing should accelerate the pace of economic development, attract more non-native people. The last chapter gives some regression analysis and modifies the regression model through residual analysis.
