The results were as follows: ( 1) The subjects took self-development of occupational values as the most important in their occupational choice. (2) For the 3-year-program students, self-development was related to two kinds of goal-orientation and self-efficacy. As to the students for professional training, self-development was related to learning goal-orientation and self-efficacy. (3) For the 3-year-program students, goal-orientation had no significant main effect on three factors of occupational values; but self-efficacy had; there was significant interaction between goal-orientation and self-efficacy in respect of self-development. As to students for professional training, goal-orientation had significant main effect on self-development factor; but self-efficacy had on the other two; there was significant main effect as well as interaction between goal-orientation and self-efficacy in respect of self-development. Thus the following conclusions were reached: (1) For technical school students, concern about self-development become individual superior need and influence his achievement motive. (2) Individual occupational choice is a process of emergence and function of achievement motive on the basis of his superior need. (3) Occupational guidance should be implemented according to individual conception of competence and his self-consciousness.
