Chinese elective courses in senior high school have been designed,which are set in the background of curriculum reforms.They enjoy more freedom and rich content and facilitate individual development.At the same time,they need new and effective teaching methods badly.Ancient academy,especially lecturing popular in Song Dynasty,provided a free and open environment where learners succeeded in delving into questions and developing thinking in an academic way.Given the idea and learning methods advocated in lecturing,the integrating point can be found between lecturing and Chinese elective courses in senior high school.For this reason,it is feasible to apply lecturing to Chinese elective courses in senior high school.The thesis is made up of five chapters.The first chapter introduces a conclusion drawn from investigations,which involve students,teachers and parents,based on the current situation and statistics of Chinese elective courses in senior high school.According to investigations,students are less motivated to develop independent learning,class activities remain to be well organized,and teaching values of stimulating students' personalized development need to be enhanced.In contrast to definitions and evaluating modes of Chinese courses in senior high school in curriculum standards,differences can be found and a solid foundation can be laid for expounding in the following chapters.The chapter two gives a brief account of lecturing in ancient times,including its matrix,development and perfection.Lecturing,acting as a means of academy education for thousands of years,is featured by a high degree of freedom,perseverance,flexibility and strictness.The chapter three analyzes the integrating point between lecturing and Chinese elective courses teaching in senior high school.Lecturing offers students a free and flexible learning environment in which they act as principal parts,catering to the individual development of students.Hence lies the teaching target of elective course.The chapter four states measures of implementing lectures in Chinese elective courses in senior high school.Discussing subjects,guiding researches,organizing debates and evaluating results will be carried out in lecturing activities.Combination of theory and practice can be achieved by analyzing theory and displaying teaching cases.The chapter five introduces specific measures of applying lectures to Chinese elective courses effectively.For example,avoiding excessive freedom,expediting adaption,controlling students' numbers and improving teachers.
