After the new course reform, effectiveness of lecturing on Art Appreciation is low in some high school. In this research, I explore the way of improving effectiveness of lecturing on Art Appreciation in high school based on the teaching effectiveness theories in pedagogy. The aim is to contribute to teaching effectiveness theories and improve the practice of art lecturing.Effective lecturing is the basic purpose of lecturing. Teachers should aim to maximize the’satisfaction’of teaching when choose teaching behavior. Satisfaction here means the teacher should feel the advance of students in both art and their personality. Therefore, effective lecturing is a necessity.In education of high school, the Art Appreciation is a crucial way of get aesthetic capability. In order to teach them real techniques in appreciating art works, develop students’potential, the teacher should consider the condition of students, and choose flexible teaching methods. Effective lecturing means that based on preparation before lecturing, the teacher conduct effective interpretation, effective organizing, and effective questioning to impart art knowledge and skill to students. Also, the teacher should set students in a particular circumstance where they can interact with each other and with the teacher. In this way, they will experience the process of learning and acquiring learning skill. Furthermore, they will obtain pleasure, curiosity, and sentiment in this process, and form emotion, attitude and value system that are beneficial to both individual and the society as whole. Only when these three objectives are achieved, it can be called effective lecturing behavior and effective lecturing, and can students develop well. In this research, the author draws on the teaching experience in western Hunan province and investigation of Art Appreciation in No. one high school of Zhuzhou with supervisor, use the theories in effective lecturing, consider the features of art apparition course in high school and the purpose, the contents, and implementation suggestions in<The standards of Art course in high school>. The author propose the methods of achieving effective lecturing in Art Appreciation which includes effective interpretation, effective discussion, and effective questioning. The author explain the meaning and implementation of each methods, hoping this will have some positive influence of Art Appreciation in high school.
