With quality education being carried on, the course for physical education in primary and high school has been renamed as PE & HEALTHY, guided by the precept "Healthy First", focusing on the creative talents of students so as to meet the requirements of the educational principle. To carry out the quality education drive in primary and high school, however, it is essential to develop high schools' professional competence.Comparing to the old one, the new PE course requires much high qualities to the schools in the field. Since the rate of population of the ethnic groups is 61.20% in Xinjiang Uyger Autonomous Region, the whole quality and the developing index in each field of ethnic groups play an important role in Xinjiang's development. It is also true that the whole quality of minority schools for ethnic groups has became an important factor which further influences the entire development of physical education in Xinjiang. Hence, it is a necessary task to know the present situation of the whole quality of teaching sections in PE in schools for ethnic groups.This paper makes a survey about the present situation of the whole quality of teaching sections in PE in high schools for ethnic groups and the result as follows: the teaching section majors in young and middle-age teachers loving this profession with ethic devotion, there still exist some backwards such as the defaults of the arrangement in the sources of teacher, for the imbalance of the ratio of sex; the simple organization in professional titles, that is, low education level, less advanced teachers; lower level in Chinese & computer, a great hinder for the renovation of knowledge; weak ability in scientific research.In addition, less field equipments and less attention from the leaders also greatly influence the quality in PE and the steady of the teaching section in schools of ethnic groups in Xinjiang.To the above backwards, this paper suggests the following solutions. Firstly, the corresponding departments in regional government and the leaders in schools should improve the corresponding policies and attach more importance to PE so as to provide more opportunities for the teaching section to further study. Secondly, cultivating some key members in ethnic teacher groups in order to form stronger forces in teaching PE in schools. Thirdly, stimulating the teachers to do scientific research, so that they have higher abilities in this field. Next, connecting the inner universities holding lectures to cultivate the teachers in the region in order that the whole level of education of the teaching section could be improved. Finally, fastening the communication between Chinese and ethnic teachers in the form of helping associations so as to improve their abilities altogether.Obviously, whether the quality education drive of PE in the region can be carried out successfully or not, to a great extent, is decided by the whole quality of the teaching section in schools of ethnic groups. That is, training more high qualified personnel and promoting the sports in Xinjiang urgently needs high qualified teaching sections of PE in high schools of ethnic groups, in the long run, improving the quality of minority high school seems much important and necessary nowadays.
