However most of the families and schools are against reading such fictions. Begin with such conflict, the thesis intends to discuss the charm and influence on teenagers caused by popular fictions of the new times, and put forward the strategy that can be adopted to get around such problem.Besides introduction and conclusion, the thesis can be divided into the following four chapters:In the first chapter, some vital notions, such as popular literature, popular fiction, are defined, and their connotation and extension are clarified at the same time. Besides that, popular literature is compared with some related notions, such as elegant literature, folk literature, public literature, pure literature, solemn literature and so on.In the second chapter, the author mainly discusses the reasons why teenagers are infatuated with popular fictions. The conclusion is the beauty of popular fictions agrees with the teenagers' expected field of vision. Such point is illustrated in detail from the following aspects: first, the language of popular fictions is simple and easy to be understood. Teenagers are lack of life experience and high artistic attainment, so their ability of appreciation determines that they are easily to show their favor in popular fictions; second, popular fictions are likely to be written on the basis of curiosity which right meet with teenagers' psychology of seeking for original and novelty; third, the plot of popular fiction is stylized and characters are categorized. Such characteristics agree with teenagers' psychological intendance in reading articles concerning about teenagers; forth, the entertainment of popular fiction canmake teenagers release pressure and obtain spiritual enjoyment of relaxation.In the third chapter, the thesis illustrates the influence on teenagers impressed by popular fictions from positive and negative aspects. The positive influence is mainly about cultivating teenagers' justice, strengthening teenagers' will, adjusting teenagers' view of love, and enriching teenagers' imagination. On the contrary, the negative influence is mainly about the inducement of violence and sex.In the forth chapter, the thesis advances four measures that can be adopted to solve the problem from the angel of teaching Chinese. That is: respect interest in reading, permitting free choice; provide books for reading, helping reading articles of fine quality; optimize the process of reading, tasting the quintessence of articles; hold various activities, promoting digestion and assimilation.
