By comparing the historical views of junior middle school graduates with those of senior middle school graduates, this paper reveals the unsatisfactory fulfillment of the history teaching goals in senior middle school history education, and indicates the disappointing situation that most senior middle school graduates lack a correct historical view. Therefore, guided by the researches of student-oriented teaching mode supported by education and education psychology theories, and based on the writer's years of practice in history teaching, this paper also provides a possible solution to the above stated problem. How to cultivate the senior middle school students' materialistic historical views by using a new lesson type featured with student-oriented teaching mode is the main theme of this paper. The writer hopes that by this new lesson type and teaching mode, history education in senior middle school will really fulfill the goals of cultivating the students' materialistic historical view in such an information society, and thus meet the requirements of current curriculum reform and qualified education.
