Recently, China has put forward a strategic idea that we should build a harmonious society and pursue growth in an economically and socially sustainable way. However, how we reach this goal? It mainly depends on enhancing the quality of all the citizens in our country. So Teaching in middle-school shoulder an important responsibility what' s more. The subject of geography is rich in the knowledge of physical geography and humane geography, which has an advantage of cultivating student' s quality in humane geography. Accordiny to a survey from 400 students, a worrying conclusion has been drawn: middle-school students are in poor condition in this area. For example, they have a poorer understanding in natural resources or environment, and so on.What has caused this current situation? According to my study, the following problems result in this bad situation. The partial guidelines of geography teaching is the main reason, while our current education system, which focuses on the results of all exams is the root of the reason. What' s more, the incomplete or improper choice of teaching materials and the arrangement of teaching materials with "course-centered" and "teacher-centered" characteristics are also a big obstacle. At last, that the evalution system of geography teaching is also a big problem to be settled.What should we do to change the current situation to enhance the humane quality of our students' , and cultivate our students into full-developed students? The followingsuggestions are put forwavd in ray treatise.We should have an accurate understanding of the essential notion of this curriculum and the goal of cultivation, and try to get rid of the fetters of this curriculum with"exam-oriented" and "course-centered" characteristics.We should make full use of own advantages as teachers, for example, our charming personalities, to find and take advantage of the spirit of humanity in teaching materials.We also ought to strengthen the construction of the "curriculum with recessive characteristics " -constructionof campus cultural atmosphere.We had better try education through practice by combining local geography.
