It has been long time that people always think the writing ability as one of the important criteria of one's ability of culture. As the result, culture teachers have spent a lot of time and energy in writing education. However, students' abilities of writing do not improve as much as they should. One of the important reasons is that they seem to have little to say when they write. Actually it is not true" that there is really nothing worthy of writing. The fact is 'that their observing abilities are top poor to find the material. Therefore, it is very urgent to effectively develop students' observing abilities.The composition of writing ability is comprehensive and observing ability is one of the important factors. It is not easy to develop students' observing abilities. This thesis starts the research of how to develop their observing abilities from the study of relations among several key factors such as thinking ability, imagination ability arid expressing ability. After the advantage and disadvantage analysis of Mr. Chang Qing's and Mrs. Liu Feifei's theories of developing observing ability and study of some outstanding teachers' recent experiments in this field, this thesis brings forward a proposal which is designed to carry out in 3 phases. In 1st phase the main target is to inspire students' observing interests to learn how to describe the external characteristics of the articles they are observing as it is. In 2nd phase students are asked to observe articles from different places and angles sequentially then to understand the internal relations of those articles by reasonable analysis and summarizing. In 3rd phases students are asked to step out of their usual life circles and enlarge their observing scopes so that to realize some truths of their lives. At the same time this thesis summarizes some methods and experience obtained from my teaching practices in recent years. It means, teachers should show honesty from bottom of hearts when communicating with students so that to get their real ideas and make them glad to write what they really think because mutual trust between teachers and students is fundamental to the development of students' observing abilities. Besides communication between teachers and students, communication among students should also be encouraged because establishing information exchange network is a effective way to develop their observing abilities. During the developing process, teachers should also make themselves to be an observer keeping close eyes on what their students have improved so that to give necessary help at right moment.Above is my study on the development of students' observing abilities in writing education. Hope it helpful to the middle school culture writing education.
