Neglect of the combination of speaking and writing is one of the important factors which result in students' low level composition performance. In composition teaching, speaking has been replaced by writing, which hinders the development of students' oral expression and restricts their overall improvement of Chinese. In view of the complementary characteristic between speaking and writing, speaking-before-writing strategy can be adopted to promote the improvement of writing and writing-before-speaking strategy can be taken to promote that of speaking. In this way, students' expressive ability can be enhanced in teaching practice. The experiment shows that the difference between them is significant. So the author thinks these two composition strategies can make up for the students' defects in composition and so improve their writing efficiency .It is suggested that the teaching model be worth popularizing.
