The education of pre-school teachers, as a branch system of teacher education, is an important field which is attached more and more impotance to in the course of education reformation. With the methods of documents and investigations, this study investigates and researches the education of pre-school teachers in the modern times, including it's occurrence, reformation and development, in the purpose of enlarging and developing the theory connotation of teacher education, of standardizing and directing the practice of pre-school teacher education.This article, starting with the basical concepts, discovers the connotation, qualities and functions of per-school teachers and the education of pre-school teachers. And it reviews briefly the main process of training pre-school teachers before and after our national reformation and in the latest ten years. It also introduces developing tendency and revelations in the pre-school teachers education of some developed countries.The article analyzes three major causes of the reform in our national pre-school teachers education. One is the influence of the development of the world teacher education; one is the challenge of the basical education reformation; the last is the requirement of the educational development. A result is drew out through the analyzing, that the new "program" requires the pre-school teachers more than before. And this requirement will change into an urgent expectation for the education of pre-school teachers. Only high quality of pre-school teacher education can result in high quality of pre-school teachers.The article states that the traditional ideas, systems and interests about pre-school teacher education can't adapt the requirement of the new "program" for pre-school teacher education. The reformation of the pre-school teacher education becomes rather urgent because of the contradiction and the conflict, meanwhile the reformation is becoming possible as our nation lays stress on it and backs up the concerned theory study.While studying the prospect of the development of the pre-school teacher education, the article, discoursing in all its aspects such as ideas systems, targets, approaches and model, suggests an idea of "an integral whole" in teacher education and the system of pre-school normal education should be transformed into pre-school teacher education and that the purpose of pre-school teacher specialization should be realized with efforts. The thesis also makes some new viewpoints about pre-school teacher specializing development, that behavior studies work as the main approach of the separate specializing development of pre-school teachers to structure "kindergartens of study style" and promote specializing development of pre-school teachers.
