With the qualification education completely implemented, the seventh curriculum reform since the founding of the P.R.C. has been in its pilot phase since September, 2001. An important part of the reform has been Lesson Assessment, which has become the hot-point of research in educational theory.On the basis of former research relating to student assessment, namely research approaches related to documentation, analysis, investigation, etc., this article reviewed the theoretical exploration of students' development assessment under the new curriculum. It also presented some practical proposals regarding implementation of middle school student development assessment.In order to document this theory of student development assessment, this article reviewed the present state of students, the relationship between intelligence and marks, the enlightenment of Rosantar effect to students and educational elements influencing the students' creative ability. The paper also described the guidelines for the study in the chosen pilot regions.The study observed (or reviewed) the developmental theory of student assessment from different perspectives, including the coral function of assessment, it provided the basic framework and operational suggestions relating to middle school student development assessment.Finally, it discusses the relationship between assessment and the high school entrance exam, the relationship between development assessment and credit system and the relationship between the credit system and the reform of the high school entrance exam, it closes with suggestions for the implementation and execution related to the middle school development assessment.It is believed that this study will have an impact of the examination under the new curriculum and further assessment reform.
